I found a decent fish guard at Home Depot for $1.97. Not sure what it is really meant for;but it works great, just clips on,cut to fit.

Great idea! It looks like a gutter guard. Plastic with a mesh screen over the holes, and has a U shaped channel on one side. My husband and I spend the weekend installing about 150' of them on the entire house lol
