I have had the rio 6 hf for about 4 years I guess and it has ran great. But when I turn it off for feeding or cleaning it makes a lot of clicking and takes forever to get it going again. Is there a better brand or model now I should look into getting? Or stick with getting a new rio? Thanks!

Not totally familiar with Rio but a lot of time you can pull pumps apart and clean them out.

Awesome thank you I will make the switch

Make sure you go with the Cobalt version, I didn't and wish I had. My Marineland version was very noisy when I first got it. It's settled down some but I regret not spending a few extra bucks for the Cobalt.

The Coralife S-1000 pump that came with mine was always great when I had my BC29.

I had the original Coral life 1000 that came with it but switched it for an MJ1200, more flow at 295gph I believe.
