Biocube 32 pH

So I shared a while back that I was setting up a Biocube 32 for my mother. The tank has been running for 5 months. It is stocked with a fairy wrasse, Bandai cardinal, Filefish, and a couple clowns.

Filtration is an intank media holder in the middle chamber with filter floss, then carbon, and the some biomedia.

Lighting, I replaced the hood and put on an AI Hydra Edge. Par at the middle of the tank where the corals start is about 175.

For corals she has mostly Euphyllia, Zoas (her two favorites) “, alveopora, and some blastomussa that are all thriving. She wanted me to add a montipora and Psammocora. The Psammocora is stagnant and the Monti is starting to see some tissue loss.

Numbers, all is about 10, calcium 450, magnesium 1450, nitrates about 8, and phosphates are about 0.2. I am working to help her get her phosphates down (she feeds heavy). My biggest concern is ph. I can’t get her pH above 7.8-7.9, which I think is the issue with her SPS. Anyone experienced with biocubes that might have some ideas?

I don’t believe that pH causes a problem except for slower growth. Same for phosphate.

What are the sps problems?

I should also add the tank was started with water and rock from my tank and sump, so it had solid bio filtration from the beginning.

IMO that ph level is not a problem and unlikely the cause the of tissue loss on sps corals, especially if lps are thriving. Just my 2 cents, good luck

It’s not that I think the ph is causing the SPS problems. I know there has to be something else there. I’m generally asking ideas on boosting pH in a Biocube 32.
