I just wanted to post this based on my experience if it helps anyone.
I was out of home for 5 days. During that time, there was a power outage at my home.
When I came back home, the biocube hood was dead. Nothing was working. The fans were off. The display screen wont turn on. I am assuming that this happened 3 days back based on the notification regarding power outage.
I tried unplugging and plugging it back on. Nothing helped. I put my old cheap LED light as an interim solution (Tank also has Steve's LED which was fine).
Next day, after I came home from work, I see that the fans had started running and the display screen had gibberish characters (pic attached).
I again tried unplugging and plugging it back on. Did not help. I tried factory reset by holding the power button down for 30 seconds. Did not help. I tried the pin reset method. Did not help. It just came back with gibberish characters displayed.
I went online and the google AI recommended to unplug the power supply for extended time to allow the capacitors to discharge.
I did that and left for work. Once I came back home, I plugged the power supply and the hood started working like nothing had happened. I was able to set my timers again and everything is working now.
I hope this post helps someone.
