A couple of months in on the biocube 14.
Time to add the skimmer.
I don’t think it’s installed wrong, but it is NOISY!
It sounds like cappuccino being made.
No skimmer I’ve ever had (in sump or hob) has ever been this loud.

It’s quieter if I starve the airline and less bubbles are made, but for the proper foam it needs to be turned up. I’ll never make proper skimate.

Is this thing just junk?
Anyone done anything to fix/hack?

I have it on my 32 , and yeah its waaaaay too loud. I had to unplug it as it was stressing the fish (at least I think it was given the amount of noise and bubbles.) For the vibration I put a piece of filter sponge (thick) on top of teh skimmer so when the lid closes it absorbed the vibration, this helped alot. For the microbubbles I put a cut sheet of filter floss at the right intake holes in front of the skimmer, this resolved the microbubble problem.
