Bioluminescent Rock Causes?

My guess is either bioluminescent bacteria or some wierd lighting.
So, this tank is about 5-6 years old and only has one fish left in it (a tomato clown). No cleanup crew or corals after a tank crash a few years ago. I simply had a tomato clown and a few damsels up until I recently removed the damsels. Soon I will remove the tomato clown and restock.
I've never seen this rock do this until very recently. No other changes or additions to the tank.

it's also only this rock.

Any idea as to what could he going on?

It does this every night.

It looks like kryptonite to me.
I am kind of hoping it spreads over the rockwork and I get a bright green tank at night.

That’s pretty cool I think it’s a bioluminescent bacteria or algae growing on the rock. You should see if a local aquarium or lab could do a study on the rock (maybe donate it)

Did you ever figure it out? Late to the game here but my first guess would have been algae/bacteria that settled or grew but my friend had this happen years ago also after a long period of time in the tank with nothing and it ended up being a super slow growing sponge that didn’t seem visible in the day but began to fluoresce at night. Wonder if that’s a possibility?
