Biopellets on new setup!

Going to start a new tank. Just wanted to know if i can start the biopellets during the cycle or wait until its done and start stocking.

Lol ^ thanks that’s very informative. Guess I’ll hold off for now. My current tank’s N is through the roof which im breaking down anyways. Just want to stop this from happening again in the future.

Makes sense.

There could have been good, fixable reasons for N to be so elevated in the old tank.....still might be no cause for an organic carbon reactor.

And there are good reasons for not wanting to elevate carbon levels in the tank:

This is what you'll be likely to run into on a fresh new tank. Well...that, dinoflagellates and other wicked-bad pest algae. ;Wideyed

Nitrates are typical for new tank. As mentioned above. I would not even think about running biopellets on a new reef.
