I have heard that these fish come from deeper waters and do not do well in intense lighting. Is this true? Has anyone successfully acclimated a Black Cap to high light environments like an SPS reef?

I have a Black Cap in my SPS dominant tank with absolutely zero issues. He actually quite frequently swims around then when spooked back to the cave he goes!

I didn't have mine in a sps reef, but had 4 XR 30 Radions over my mixed reef and had a pair.
I currently have one in my LPS tank with a pair of XR15's.

Thanks for the replies! My tank has plenty of caves and overhangs so I think I will go for it.

have a Black cap and a gramma in a 180 with 480 PAR in the open water

The Blackcap patrols the open column while the gramma rides the undersides of he ledges and come out to feed

no outward aggression between them
