Black ich on naked clown?

Is this black ich on my naked clownfish? I don’t have anemone in the tank only LPS corals

Could be, but could it also have tried to host in one of your LPS and gotten stung? How long have you had it? The reason I ask is that its caudal fin is a bit chewed up and the clear fins look a bit milky to me.

Could be, but could it also have tried to host in one of your LPS and gotten stung? How long have you had it? The reason I ask is that its caudal fin is a bit chewed up and the clear fins look a bit milky to me.

I’ve had it for 3 weeks. The fins look beat up after I caught it with a net and did a freshwater dip. Might be my fault or something else. The fins were fine I think before I caught it.

This was him on Saturday before I caught him thank god I took a video he still has the black dots

Stin from anemone is likely source and agreed with Jay. It is known as Clownfish Hyper-Melanization whereas it generally self-corrects. It all depends upon whether eventually the host anemone accepts the clown. Clowns are often eager to dive into anemones, mushrooms and other coral without thought. They dont necessarily need a host but it would be good to find a suitable one safe for the fish generally being a BTA anemone or similar.
