I'd like to know some Ascension tips if you could post any......Our group cant seem to break 24-25 LOL.
For you guys...I'll give you some helpful advice..
Here's a strategy that I like:
Level 1-4 stay in the starting room. First level shoot a zombie's body 6 times and knife them... next level shoot 8 times and knife... continue the 8 shot and increase knife by 1 for other levels.
At level 5 open the top stairs that lead out to the first lander. Pick up the MP5K and use that for a couple rounds to rack up money. If you start getting low on ammo just go pick up the mp5k ammo.
At level 7/8/9 you should head to the power room and allow everybody to try the box. You will likely want to get jug at this point.
Now..here's where the strategy goes along with how good the people in your party are...people with lesser skill would do well to set up all 3 landers and launch the rocket and get into the pack-a-punch room and camp there....3 players stay in pack-a-punch (one for each window and one for the entrance) and one player should utilize a run-a-round technique in the actual rocket launch room. Ideally, eventually you'll want to all spread out to different sections of the map where you can run around in circles to congregate zombies together in big groups and destroy them.<---that is the key to surviving the higher levels since the window techniques will no longer work well.
Now...weapons...for the first 20 levels you can almost use whatever gun with some success. I honestly like the HK or RPK early on to rack up massive points to use later on. I've gotten 30000+ points in one round with the HK in later rounds.
Eventually it almost becomes essential for everybody to have a ray gun. The ray gun is one of the few guns that can actually keep zombies efficiently at the later levels AND has the ability to drop zombies to crawlers in one shot... making them crawlers can be extremely helpful since it causes them to stop spawning until that crawler has died...so you can just imagine how helpful this could be if you have a huge group and you make them into crawlers quickly so that you can go revive teammates, hit the box, get a perk, text, etc while in the middle of a round.
Another great gun is the first gun you get...the pistol at the start of the game. When you upgrade this, it turns into mustang & sally which are dual grenade launchers and these can wipe zombies (or monkies) out very quickly. This has always been my favorite gun but is even better now with PHD Flopper which causes NO explosive damage (along with no fall dmg and dive explosions). You can literally run into a group of zombies on accident, aim at the ground and unload and save yourself from death...there's literally no reason to die if you have these guns and PHD flopper.
Another great gun is the thunder gun/zeus cannon which someone should always have.
The strategy is to gather zombies into big groups while running around in a circle and use either the ray gun, mustang & sally, thunder gun, or gersch (black hole grenades) device to destroy these big groups and rinse/repeat OVER AND OVER.
Helpful tips:
There's two really easily accessible fire traps on the map which can be extremely helpful if you run out of ammo..use these as a last resort though since they won't cause drops and you want all the drops you can get...also keep in mind that the thunder gun/zeus cannon doesn't cause drops to occur.
If you're getting low on ammo and have a lot of funds (thanks to using the hk/rpk early), you may want to toss your ray gun back into the box and try to re-retrieve it. You can do this with the black hole grenades too.
Don't pack-a-punch immediately. Only do it if you're running low on ammo...this is important for guns like the ray gun which stay pretty strong even un-upgraded.
If you have a lot of funds and you're low on ammo with the ray gun or mustang and sally...you may like this technique.......allow yourself to get downed and have someone revive you...you'll come back with more ammo for the ray gun and mustang & sally!
The only perks that I feel are "must have" are juggernog and PHD Flopper (in that order of importance).
There ya go..let me know if that helps at all.
