Can someone explain why the price dropped so drastically over the past 2 months??

From what I can tell a few other vendors have recently released their versions of the “black storm” clown. More competition = lower prices.

Yes. I have 4 qt tanks set up bec my DT is cycling. I technically did not have room for anymore fish ( don't ask me why i went to the store, I told myself I was just "looking" LOL) But there was no way I was leaving these in the store for that price.
Still a nice score! :)

Cheapest I’ve seen was 100$ each at a LFS anniversary sale. Good score on the clowns.

The price went down pretty quick! I think it's been around a year. All the designer clownfish seem to settle in aroun $50-$70 for the really "exotic" ones. I think sea&reef priced them too high to begin with, but because they had teaser pics out for a couple years they probably sold them at those prices to the hobbyist who were dying to get them. After that wave was done, the rest of us have a hard time paying more than $100 per clown.

I still am planning on getting a pair of these and/or a pair of the mocha storms. They are awesome clowns imo. Though not for everyone.

Why not for everyone? Are ther particularly hard 2 keep?

Nope, they are a very hardy fish! For some reason there's a segment of hobbyist who do not like the look of them. Then another segment who doesn't like "designer" clownfish at all. Just a personal preference thing.

Gotcha, they are stunning fish. I have a 150 I think they will get lost in my tank.

ORA released their version, Nice score though on the price, I just picked up a pair for 120 each.
