Black Tang !!!!

I just got back from my LFS and has a Black Tang. It`s 5 inches long and eating well . They want $499.00 is that a good price for this fish . How well do they do in the reef tank . what size tank is best for this fish .

Its a Zebrasoma species, so behavior and needs are very similar to yellow and purple tangs. That price is quite reasonable.

It looks like It will grow to big for my tank :(

Yeah, you'll want a minimum of 125g for a black tang. Probably even bigger. Beautiful fish though.

That's a pretty good price alright. As the other poster said, they're just as hardy as yellow or purple tangs. Make sure its eating well at the store and has no signs of ich. As long as its healthy and you have a healthy reef it will do great!

I only have smaller tanks 65 &60 ,so it wont fit .
