Hi reefers,

As you can see from my below pic, the blasto seems to be receding on the left side. The right seems to be perfectly healthy which suggest to me it's nothing to do with placement or parameters. I feed both side weekly although the left side doesn't seem to react as much as the right. Am I just being paranoid?

Nitrite and ammonia 0.
Nitrate around 5ppm, currently battling hair algae.
I dose amino acids and all other params are good.

+1 on it being a Lobo

Also, that left one has its skeleton starting to show through. Usually a sign of imminent death. How is your flow? does it blow one way only? Is it random? Is there things living on the skeleton of the left one? Just trying to think of things that can affect one and not the other.

Thanks for the response. So flow is right to left but the power head top right shuts on and off intermittently. Salinity is 1.025 and doesn't change much. Temp hovers between 23.6 to 24.1 during the day.

Was told by the LFS it was a blasto! I didn't think it was.

P
Phos 0ppm Nitrate 5ppm. I've got the Hydra AI lights. Thinking too much light or not enough?
Could be not enough light depending on your schedule? I'd think your soft corals would be suffering if it was too much light.

I've got it acclimating at the moment. It's got 10 days left currently about 10% less then shown in the image.

Hi All, just an update on this. Turns out it was the pep shrimps that are doing this. I caught one over night. So the left one was completely eaten and the right one is now being attacked. Operation remove peps.

Sounds about right, peppermint shrimp are a real problem imo. Glad you found the issue, once you get those shrimp out of the tank definitely feed that lobo a bit.
