Bleach dosing

anyone heard of this ? I was on Instagram and found someone who doses bleach into the tank .

Coulda sworn bleach was like mustard gas for fish.

1ml per gallon sounds very high
maybe @Randy Holmes-Farley will chime in here

Are you carbon dosing? Are you sure its bacteria? There's a lot of things that can be remedied and I'd avoid bleach dosing.
