Did you add any framing to the base cabinet? Couldn’t tell from the pics, but may be something to consider, especially on the panel that was cut.

Lol. The alarm system guy came to set things up. He looked at me, kinda scared like and asked “do you work for the cia or something?” I told him only pro bono. they couldn’t afford my rate.

What actually is it? Is that a server tower? What does each thing do. I’m very curious now, lol. Is your house a smart house? Like you speak anywhere on your property and an AI helps you with anything you want?

I thought about it. But decided not too. It actually came with a door to turn that into a functional Space. The weight is spread between the two cabinets, so I figured that was probably enough support. But now I’m nervous about. ;Bucktooth

Lol. Pretty much. I’m totally a gadget nerd. I haven’t installed blinds, but they also have them so that you can set a room to be a certain type of light, and it will change the height of the blinds and the light intensity of the bulbs throughout the day and night to keep the same brightness. It’s like a human light system. I figure if it’s good enough for the fish, it’s good enough for me.

And I think I’m about ready for some lights. If I keep filling, there’s not going to be a place for my current rocks. I’m going to measure the height of the water to get an estimate of the total volume I’ve put in. I was keeping count of the jugs of water at some point, but that got confused along the way.

And as a bonus, the vertebrate who’s certain the new tank belongs to him. ❤❤❤

Here’s some pictures. I don’t know what most of the things do. I know the two bottom things are batteries. The tank also has its own battery back up.

But... can the fuge light keep chaeto alive through the acrylic, or does it HAVE to be mounted above it?

Looks like a nice set up. Im not familiar with some of it as i dont know resi gear as well as pro gear but i did some quick research and its some pretty cool stuff.

I would guess the light would still work through the side but you'll lose some intensity. I would give it a shot and if its not growing chaeto (or whatever you're putting in the sump as much as you want), then figure out some way to mount above. Might just be fine though. Not sure how I missed this thread- but the tank looks awesome, cant wait to see it come together. Nice work!

If that doesn’t work you could put some eggcrate on top of the sump and put it on that.

that light will grow more than chaeto, I was growing algae inside my skimmer.
