Finished the poly coats. I think this top looks sharp. I’m thinking about off setting it like this. I have a cabinet door to attach to left. I’d like it to be easily accessible. I thought that would give me space to put a control panel and/or hooks for equipment with the longer overhang on the right. What do y’all think?

I think it looks awesome. I love the hardwood floors too ;)

Really? I hate the color. I want to get them redone, but they were redone right before we moved in. Seems silly to do it again.

Here’s the plumbing. I think I thought of everything, but just want opinions/ thoughts. Heading to go get some u pipes cause the 90 degree pipes didn’t fit in the overflow box. Hopefully will have water in it soon!!!

Putting water in. Sprung a few leaks. One at a union and one at one of the bulkheads. Tightening everything up more.
Happens, great job on the plumbing! Good lord, I’m flying you out next big upgrade I do, lol.

Lol! I’ll help! Told you I spent a mild fortune on plumbing. I honestly cant imagine what more I could have added to make it be easy to repair and stuff.

Think I’m going to go get some silicone spray. Can’t seem to get it right.

Looks good. Only suggestion would be to turn the check valve a 1/4 turn so you can access it easier. I always recommend cleaning them every 3 months maximum.

I actually put the two unions on either side of it so I can turn it when it needs to be cleaned. I read that the tube can start to grow algae sometimes also since it is clear, this way I can also take the whole thing out to clean it to if need be. The valve above it is to turn off any water that may be back siphoning from the return while cleaning the check valve.

When I had it turned so it was fully accessible, I could see a little knob sticking out from behind the tank - Which would annoy me over time.

I’ll post a picture of a different angle when I go back downstairs.

Now that I look at the picture, I can see how the knob would stick out past the edge of the tank. Like you, I could never live with that either!

You put two unions on either side? You must really like unions! ;Hilarious (I understand that you meant a union on either side. ;))

Total of 2 unions - one per side... grammar police. ;)

I can’t get this Fiji cube overflow to stop leaking. I must have put it together wrong. I can’t find instructions anywhere. Has anyone installed one and if so, which side does everything go on?

Far be it from me to ever tease or give anyone a hard time! :p

Cannot see them in your picture but which side did you install the rubber gaskets?

There are 4 rubber gaskets. I think I’m putting it together correctly, but there weren’t instructions nor can I find a video with information. I'm wondering if it just doesn’t go the way I think it should.

Where, specifically, are you placing the gaskets when connecting the skimmer box to the overflow box?

Below are some pics from the Fijicube site...

Yep. That’s how I got them. I turned around the gaskets also. Still leaking. I’m at a loss.

Tightening more is slowing the drip. One side still has a slight drip. I guess I’ll keep tightening. Dang. I wish I had a torque wrench number to know if I was doing it too much or if I still had some room to go tighter.

So I spent most the day messing with the tank. I went to feed my fish and realized I ran out of food. The lfs is closed now. What can I do? Can they eat regular shrimp from the grocery store?
