Blotched Anthias Care

Hi guys in my experience they are super hardy. They eat a lot. The ones in my seahorse tank are about 2 yrs old and change. They get pretty big. The ones in my reef are about a yr old and have quadrupled in size in a heavily stocked tank. Great fish
Awesome. He’s also going into a seahorse nano. I’m thinking being a deep sea fish they’re in the dark depths so transparent maybe. He needs colouring up. He hasn’t eaten yet . I put a cube of frozen mysis but walked out n didn’t observe him eating but I’m sure he might’ve. What foods are good ?

Thank you. Can I ask do they color up in time as mine is nearly transparent. I guessed from stress but he’s swimming around his qt but hasn’t eaten as yet. I’ll try mysis n mixed frozen tonight. He will colour up I’m guessing.
They should color up in time. Mine usually seem to get their full color after a day or two. Remember their colors arent going to be super bright like a lot of reef fish because they are a deep water fish but they won't be so pale forever.

He’ll eat. They’re not scared of anything. Mines have grown to be the kings of the seahorse tank

Like most fish, it's likely still trying to adjust to it's surround and is timid. New fish usually are because they're not use to a person walking in/out or food just dropping from the water column. Keeping trying to feed small aquantities. Sometimes it take a day or so after arrival before they get around to start trying. Eventually you can start trying other food from frozen, to pellets to flakes. Eventually they will understand anything dropping from the water column at a certain time is food and it should be eating :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:.

Thanks. So far no one is replying. Maybe Ryan from BRS could shed some light. So far I put mine in tank on Saturday and finally last night it came out and ate after all lights where out. Today eating and staying in shadow of coral. Looking good so far but very shy as of now.
They are beautiful fish. Just so expensive

I lost my 2 in a move in 2021. Just got 2 from NY Aquatics this week and they are of course hiding and eating at 0600 with lights out. They are very healthy and looking good. I added them on Friday. I git a great deal for $175 a piece and that is the best price I have seen in a few years.
