Blue Cloves!

I have blue clove polups growing all over! I have a few ppl that would like frags of them but need to know if there is any way to get them off of there? They are on rocks that i just cant take out unless i dismantle my tank! If you have any info it would help. Thanks alot Josh

You can drop a frag plug in the middle of a colony and it will probably have growth on it in a week or two. That is probably the easiest way to "frag" blue cloves.

+1 dropping a frag plug or a piece of shell or rubble rock on them and letting them grow onto it

I've used a razor before to scrape the liverock that they were growing on, trying to cut the rock and not the cloves, didn't have success with it so would recommend the grow-over method.

Curious though if anyone has any tips for how to killl these guys en-masse? They're gorgeous, but spread so rapid I'm trying to clean up some of the rocks, and would rather not have to try and razor blade them all.

you know whats funny, they will not grow in my tank, I have tried them several times, they receed and die, also green star polyps will not live more than a few days, I think the xenias, and the other softies have too strong a hold, and the chemical they emit in the water will not let them grow. I kinda like them, but they can really cover up the rock work in a hurry

they will not grow like that in my tank either, pretty much stay in the little group that they were in when i bought it, has grown a little but not to that extent, almost a curse or maybe a blessing that they grow like that for you

Chisel and a hammer. Just pull out a piece of rock that they have colonized and carefully knock off a piece or two.
