Are these fish reef safe and peaceful? Thinking of adding one lfs is getting in next week. I’ve seen different information on them some places say min tank size of 75 gal, some say 120 gal. Anyone here have one?

I wouldn’t do them in a 75g tank, they’re largely active and get big - I’ve seen them around 7-8 inches, and they can allegedly get to a foot in length.

This is assuming we’re talking about Bodianus parrae (which it’s scientific name actually shows it’s a hogfish as opposed to a true wrasse). What I will say, is they do behave much like many of the Bodianus in which they’re coral safe, but not so invert safe IME.

Recommend a 120 or larger, as the previous comment said they are coral safe but will try and get any small invertebrates that they can fit in their mouth. Provide lots of caves and hiding spots so it feels more comfortable, that way you'll see it more in the open once it's acclimatized to your tank.
