I very much agree with WrasseSandwich...Furan based meds are typically the default for practical apps (reality of hobbyist access to meds, and best among whats available). If the jawfish wasnt such a jumper, you could just give it 2-4 hour baths in a bucket and spare the obstacles of a Qt (not conditioned or ready, I presume...no disrespect) or stress no biofilters. Most antibiotics are only stable for a matter of hours...so thats all you need for a "long bath." Catching this fish every other day for 3+ dips is just not fun or funny.

You are doing well to feed antibiotic foods. You can actually add furans to the feed as well (pending what brand/dose you are able to get).

I'm sending you a PM for an alternate solution to help.

could you use a 5 gallon bucket filled about 1/3 and a small filter from like a tetra application for the qt tank since they are jumpers??

i acclimated mine in a 5g bucket and he went crazy everytime i looked in the bucket. he wanted to jump out or hide from me...then i decided to put a small rock in there for him to hide under...this really made him relax...so i think you could qt in a 5g bucket with a top, but i would put something in the bucket like a rock that he could hide under in order to reduce the stress level

update...my fish is still alove and kicking. he swims around more freely more and more every day. he appears very happy, but his body still looks bad. i fed dr gs antibacterial for a week or so and then fed gut loaded brine shrimp (loaded with furan 2) for about 10 days. don't know what to do now, but i don't want to take him out of the tank to treat as this may cause unwanted stress

Good to hear hes still alive. Can you treat the tank with furan 2

the directions say that you can, and i have thought about it, but i had several people tell me to do that cut loading brine trick instead of dosing the tank
