I just got this little guy last night and I went to take a look at him a sec ago to find him on the floor, he still alive and put him in my nano tank and put a lid on it. He was in my 250g tank and I don't know what to do now. Anyone have had any luck with this guy with out a lid on top of the tank? I'm thinking of getting some egg crate and put it on top but not sure how we'll that will work since is going to block some light to my corals :(

I have a blue spotted jawfish, and I have a glass top supported by spacers on the edges. so no where can he jump out. Make sure you have fine sand and coral rubble for him to build with. Mine only tried to jump out once, before he had a home built. Since he has a den, he seem very content.

There are some really good screen top solutions. I made mine buying framing from Home Depot and the .25 screen from BRS. I just have a 25 gal it was really simple and cheap.

Yep a assume fish and super entertaining but they are jumpers. I have known allot of people who have lost this fish to jumping, a cover is a must. I had seen my jawfish hit the cover many times..

That what I did... Bought the clear screen from brs and bought the framing from Home Depot and made my own, they look real nice when finished and are super easy to build.
