Blue spotted wrasse

I was happy to score a three inch blue spotted wrasse. He was eating frozen at the store. I got him home yesterday along with a few other fish and he's been swimming around, overall pretty active. One concern I had was he didn't eat my frozen today when a the other fish did. I know their diet but I saw him eat frozen at the lfs so I assumed he would keep it up. Any suggestions or is he just feeling his ways in the tank first?

I hate to guess but no qt? My biggest issue with incoming wrasses are flukes and other parasites, should always be at least minimally treated with 2 rounds of Prazipro.

^Qt w/prazi is recommended. Regardless, he should resume eating frozen after a couple of days.

The lfs I use did quarantine him for me for nearly three weeks and medicated him. Say what you may but that's how I opt to do it for now. He still seems happy and maybe he's eating phytoplankton and or copepods but i have yet to see him eat frozen

Medicated with what? And if new fish were still being added to the system with it there will still be a large risk for parasites. Prazi is pretty reef safe so that is still an option available to you.

I presume we are talking about Anampses caeruleopunctatus? In which case, be aware the species grows to 16".

pretty quickly.....got my mine as about 1 1/2" juvi and only 2-3 years it's 6" already not to mention a CUC destroyer. It recently took out a 3" tiger conch which I had for years
