I’ve added a small purple tang about 2 months ago. Been doing well. Eats great and is always out and about. I’ve noticed some of his fins a little messed up. Just saw my blue tang have the purple tang by the fins in his mouth shaking him. He got away and was swimming around but never heard or seen anything like it. Should I try and trap him?

If this is Atlantic blue, I had to finally remove my Atlantic blue out of 340 gallon. But then every fish is different. Observe and see if it gets worse.

Thanks Sam just a blue hippo as far as I know. Yellow tang was my initial worry but they got through it...he’s def the boss of the tank

In general I would not worry about blue hippo tang. They are just goofy and do stuff once in a while but not consistently. Having said that, everyone is slightly different. Good luck. I would suggest Give it some time.
