Just noticed these white spots on this blue tang. Appears mainly on the black areas on both sides. Under belly appears a litter paler than before but acting normal. Don’t think it’s itch but either way, in my QT tank as I just got the fish a week or so ago. Thoughts?

As these fish often get this, these are mucus cones often from a skin irritation and at times are mixed in with ich and Often you will notice other occupants show no signs but recommended is to remove all fish and treat them as well using coppersafe or copper power for a full 30 days at 2.25ppm which they respond to well and add an air stone and monitor copper level with a reliable Copper Test kit such as Hanna Brand- No API brand. Also monitor Ammonia levels while in quarantine with a reliable test kit and add aeration during treatment using an air stone.

Thank you. I will begin the copper treatment tomorrow followed by 1-2 doses of prazipro (always like to QT with that but first time with a tang)

Additionally, unless it's a function of the glass, your water looks a little cloudy, perhaps increase water flow - and make sure you're checking ammonia, parameters, etc. Again - if it's just an optical illusion, all good. Nice fish by the way

Thanks! Yes it’s just the glass and zoomed in photo making it that way. Ammonia was 0 earlier today and flow is solid
