About a month (maybe a month and a half) I was sold a female BT as a male whose colors hadn't developed yet. Well, I've come to find out that it isn't true, and it was a female. I purchased a male, and have him in the tank. Well, all of a sudden, she had spots like a leopard and started chasing the male around. Not surprising. So I scooped her out and have her separated from the other tank mates.

If I left her separated for 24 hours or so, do you think they might start to get along? Or should I just find her a new home?

Whenever you get a male / female that have yet to be "mated", aggression is quite normal. This is typical for all fish.

Just let them fight it out until they manage to get along. Of course this depends on the tank size as well. You want ample swim/hiding room for them to give each other a break. It all depends. Sometimes it goes well and other times it does not.

Yea, I know its normal. I was just wondering if there was any way to lessen the tension.

You can get creative or use one of those acrylic box with slots in it used for acclimating fish. You can put her in their for a few hours to hopefully lessen the tension.

Thats what I'm doing now. She is in a basket in the tank currently. Has fairly large holes in it so she can see the tank mates.
