I found one of these in my lfs. What species is this? Looks like a blue yellow tang. I don't know if it's common but I've never seen one....

Blue Caribbean Tang
Agree.
They are yellow when Juvenile and turn blue when adult. This one is almost done transitioning because I only see very little yellow left in it

Side note, they get very large and without enough space to stake out a territory they claim the entire tank and get aggressive.

Acanthurus coeruleus.

Yellow tangs, and the other Zebrasoma (sailfin) tangs, have longer snouts and more sailfin-type dorsal/anal fins.

Common fish in Caribbean/Florida Keys if you go snorkeling/diving. Nice in natural sunlight but there are nicer acanthurus tangs out there.

I live in south Florida and come across these tangs often in the Florida keys. Let me just say that they are absolutely huge when full grown. I’ve seen one almost a foot long and a foot wide.

Side note, they get very large and without enough space to stake out a territory they claim the entire tank and get aggressive.

How big of tank is suitable for this fish? I am thinking about getting this fish for my 300G. It is 96” by 24” tall by 30” deep. Thank you.

You’ll be fine adding one to a tank that size, even if it grows to be on the larger size for the species.
