I've had a male Bluejaw for a year now, and I was at the LFS yesterday and saw a smaller female, so I picked it up. Put her in the tank in the acclimation box, and the male nipped at her a few quick times, but they just tried to strut his stuff around her, swimming like he was showing off.

I let her out this morning, and I have yet to see any aggression. They were swimming and eating together already :)

Anybody have a trigger pair that they purchased separately? Do you think my males colors will intensify with the addition of the female?

Nobody? haha.

I looked tonight, and both triggers are sleeping fairly close to each other, just on the other side of a rock with a cave, so they def know the other is there. Love at first site? haha

thats awesome you got a pair of blue jaws, it be great if you had baby jaws one day. would like to have one in my tank one day. just love the way they look around.

Yeah, I absolutely love mine. He's been a model citizen and never harmed anyone. He did like to strut his stuff when I add new fish, but not so much anymore. He did show off considerably when I added my fist fairly wrasses to the tank though. Its funny to see him do it, cause he'll raise his top and lower fins out to make himself look bigger and badder, where the truth is he's a baby, haha

I had a 4" crosshatch F from Pac island aquatics...added 5" M.....their in instant love.

And love every piece of food that enters the tank. Lol

Just lucky..good luck with you BJs!

Yeah, my triggers are both pigs as well. Both of them will eat the bigger spectrum pellets as well. The male gets mad if another fish tries to peck at one too, haha.

I watched the female gobble down plenty of mysis today on her first full day in the tank :)

My 3 year old red coris went into hiding though...not seen for a week.

We call the M CH "the Dog" and F "Beth"....funny story

F CH jumped into overflow 2 months ago...we thought she disappeared...dead.

Cleaning tank...took off canopy...there she was. 2 months in overflow of my 210 gal show tank!!!!!

Ever heard that? Lol

Wow, thats crazy. Glad she made it out ok though...cause I know they aren't cheap :)

I plan to put a Crosshatch pair in my new display, so I'm hoping they will get along with the BlueJaw pair.
