I want sort of a ridge to go along the top of my tank of SPS...so them only growing 3-5 inches vertically is fine with me as long as they spread out. The shallowest areas will go to the corals that dont need to grow up as much like the stylos.

Just started dosing vodka...and that has really helped the color of the shortcake...green yellow and red. used to be brown and green.

Its actually not getting the most light. I have had it for almost a year, and not counting the encrusting it has done, it has close to doubled in the past year. It has been through a lot though, and was more than 15" under a MH lamp in its last location. Now with some more light I am hoping that we see better colors and growth.

Anything on my list that isnt a good tough coral? Anything that is going to brown out right away? (Although based on colors getting better in my tank I might not have to worry about this anymore.)

Anything you put in is gonna prolly brown out and then come back I would say buy aquaculture for this reason so when it comes back you know exactly what Color it will be... Can't go wrong with torts or Ora pieces etc... Btw shortcakes don't like the light I lost 2 of them to bleaching and having 2 much light mine is about 6" off the sand and happy that's 18" down from the top....hth..
