Do you have a top on that bad boy, I know hawkfish are carpet surfers. On another note looks good keep up the good work.

thanks...i made a mesh top for it but i dont really keep it on since theres opening on the back from the hob skimmer and fuge i have had him since november with no top most of the time

Oh, I remember seeing a picture a few weeks back of one that went carpet surfing and they didnt notice and when he found it it was crispy. Give it a little time for it to grow out and it will look great!

Have you had any problems with the CBB nipping at your polyps? I've always wanted one, but the fear of nipping at polyps/clams and passive eating has always steered me away from getting one.

That is gonna look sweet once everything grow in, it looks awesome so far!

yeah i have wanted one for the longest time i was just recently able to find one that was eating well..ive only had him for 5 days he hasn't touched any of my corals just ate all my feather dusters i got him eating frozen now so hopfully he dosent get hungry and start picking at the coral .. as for the clams i dont have any right now but i did try feeding him a clam on the half shell as some people suggested and he wouldn't eat that so idn if that means if wouldn't touch a live clam.

Also isnt a 38G a little small for a copper band butterfly i though they where suppost to be in much larger tanks and they have a tendincy to pick at LPS. Having him in a smaller tank is asking for troubel.

live aquaria says 50 gallons for them but i think i can get away with it since my tank is the same length as a 50 just thinner and with my hob fuge skimmer and canister my total volume is closer to 48 gallons.

hey nice tank..i have the same tank with dual 150w mh and 2t5...your coralline algea looks awesome, did you use any supplements for it? how long did it take to start showing?

Its not about tottle water is about space for it to swim, im just saying by no means and i bothering you or nagging just they are pron to pick at LPS and in a smaller tank that is only pramoting that behaviour.

Stable CAL/ALK/MAG is all you need for coralline. It just takes new tank some time. Once it comes though buy razor blades in bulk lol.
