I see branching duncans for sales quite a bit. I've never purchased one, do they remain branching or do they eventually form a "ball"?

I think in a tank they will all eventually fill in with polyps and loose the branch look. I got a 6" piece of one that was definitely "branching" it has not grown longer in the about a year I have had it, but it is completely filled out with polyps now and no longer looks like it did. It now looks more like a foot ball I guess (American foot ball). Its still a cool neon green color and if you look at it from the bottom you still see the "branch". The skeletons of Duncans grow thick and slow the flesh and polyps in our tanks do not there is too much food available I think. I was really hoping it would continue to look like a branch, but figured from past experiences with Duncans it probably would not. Either way I still love it.I see branching duncans for sales quite a bit. I've never purchased one, do they remain branching or do they eventually form a "ball"?
