Branching Hammer Coral - Bad News or Can It Bounce Back?

I just got this frag a few days ago. The first full day in my 32 biocube it opened up and looked very healthy. However yesterday (full day #2) it was totally retracted and hasn't come back out since. It's totally shriveled up now - my guess is it's dead or dying but what would have killed it so fast? Tank's been running for about 3 months, 78F and 1.024 salinity.

Lighting, flow, water parameters - those are the usual suspects. It may come back, but keep an eye out for BJD.
