Today is the big day! I'm curious to see how it will turn out. Getting some new coral with the new (to us) tank too. Really hoping our little guys are ok with their new home. Fingers crossed.

Lighting debate. White T5's. Lots of indirect sunlight. 4,6, or 8 hrs? Curious if your opinion matches mine.

Umm. My vote.

Blue t5 first 2 hr.
White t5 for 6(can adjust and 8 would be great)
Blue for 2more hours.

IMO. Don't care about indirect. If you metered it compared to the amount hitting the coral. It's like it's a cell phone flashlight outside on a clear day.

Ok I said 6.
You are correct in fact.

I like long photo periods, but if it's a lot of light, the corals might not like it. You'll have to wait n see imo. It also might LOVE it.

That could be expensive.

The last time I ran t5 I believe I was on a ten hour total light period.
The corals went nuts and sps blew up and more than doubled in size.

I had a cheap led to add a couple more hours on either end too. I like to see the tank when I get up and when I go to bed. A late/early moon doesn't take much light for a head count.

I have been doing 6 hrs. The whole lighting thing is confusing to me. I'm new.
