You could have your 30 lbs. of current rock in there for a while by itself. Same bioload, same biofiltation. Total volume does not really matter. An additional 15 lbs. would support a full to overfull bioload in my opinion.

I would let it mature for a month after the transfer before additions. Get to know the new tank.

I would rather use live rock. It's pricey here. 6.99 per lb. I'm gonna try to add a little at a time. I'm ok with the short term uglies.
