Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

I bet it’ll work better. I firmly believe most skimmer air inlet hoses are oversized, especially on large skimmers.
I think I may try that on my reef octo air hose. I had issues with it overflowing before.

I used to own a Simplicity 320dc skimmer like this one and could overflow it within seconds at will by closing the little white air inlet knob on top down a bit. There is of course a tipping point where the air supply isn’t enough to support the head and closing the valve too much will cause it to drop back down.

Good morning peeps. Looking at some of your babies has me thinking. Baby Tang or baby Angel. Are there any chill varieties? How long could we keep them? I would love for Andrew to have a variety of fish.

Btw, firefish are not nice. Not in a Biocube anyway.
Lol! Good to know. Wasn't much of a fan based on swimming style (or lack of) but always heard they were timid.

30" x 31" set up as a circular track would be almost as much room as a 4' long tank.
Not ideal, but way better than some of the tanks that baby big fish get placed in.
Make a flame angelfish your last addition. Beautiful cranky supermodels.
Maybe a biota yellow tang baby?
Another attitude child.
Blue hippo tang are calm, but definitely a tank buster.

Lol, how about smaller fairy or flasher wrasse?
They swim, fairly decent attitude and stop at 3" to 4".
In a circular set up that would be close to ideal.

Man you spend one day on the road and this thread goes for pages. Instead of try to comment on everything I’ll just say HI, and hope everybody is doing good.

Ps: I think a baby biota tang would be a good addition.

Hi. You know skimming is perfectly fine here! :)

Shy? Lol. Not this one. He is as bold as the clown!

Oh wow! I an getting that and the old stand by gramma on Wednesday for my reef and have been concerned I would never see him again bc of how my other ones were. Good to know. Thx

If I do decide to drill it, does anyone here have overflow suggestions for a 40B?
I have used the Glass-Holes overflows on small tanks in the past. I think if I were doing another one in the near future, I might give ine of the Eclipse overflows a shot. The Glass-Holes don’t have emergency drains, but can’t say it was ever an issue. They are inexpensive and easy to install. They can be noisy at times, but once they have run a while they can be silent, like the two I have running now. Can’t hear either of them.

Edit: Apparently Glass-Holes is shut down now. Their web site is gone. I haven’t gone
rhere in a while, so not sure when they shut it diwn. Oh well. So much for that suggestion.

I have a Royal Gramma that was the first fish in my 140 that was set up in 2006. He is at least 13 years old and still going strong.

You can come get my ballsy little guy if you want him. He swims openly with the clown all day.

@Hemmdog
There is a story in the comment about not being able to return to Canada! You just reminded me of why I never pledged to either fraternity that rushed me at UK lol! I attended a coed boarding school for high school and got all the crazy things out of my system a little earlier in life!
