Brand New 8 gallon bio cube

@Fin, thanks again for the drilling advice. Do you usually get a little breakout on the back side of the hole like I did in the pic? 20190428_125017.jpg
Peace, baby! :-)

Ask Katrina we are having fun just being together.

This week will be food for the soul.
True. They are having fun. No worries about the honeymoon traditions guys...I think R2R is just what he's doing on breaks. ;)

Pretty sure those acros died from temp. Just figured out my temp is lower than the digital readout on the controller **** you finnex. Anyway I adjusted it up a couple degrees, we'll see if things are happier today maybe my rastas will fully open today?
It would probably help if I had fish in there for waste and such. I have a pretty sterile tank as @Hemmdog put it.

Well, that really stinks! How did you verify the temp? Did you use an old school mercury filled thermometer? I've always been a big fan of having a couple of them to verify temp. So simple yet so effective. How old is the Finnex? Maybe still under warranty. Have you considered an Inkbird?

Brand new, apparently it's a "thing" with these heaters. as long as I get it to a good stable temp I'll live with it for awhile.
I used a infrared thermometer...it felt cold used the thermometer in the brute can. Almost identical to the apex it's connected to so then used it on my lil tank here, it was 73 degrees. Oh **** oops
I haven't. The plan is to connect my apex to a second dc8 powerbar I have here buy 2nd controller bam apex on daughter's 40 breeder.

Some of the recent reviews people say they need to set it 10+ degrees higher for the temp they desire. The controller readout is junk on these heaters. I don't recommend the Digital Finnex heater.

Well that’s not good lol.

That starfish will most likely struggle in such a sterile tank
Be sure to provide it with plenty of food. I assume they would eat nori.

That group posted your starfish on IG from the swap!! Nice specimen
