I have an apex lite
older version of apex, that does most everything the new one does minus wifi out of the box but can be added externally.
What you want/need to know?
Would you do Apex classic over Reef keeper lite? Remember...simple

I hope competition picks up and controllers become more affordable. Mindstream is out there now so hopefully they put a dent in the industry. I can’t afford one either and I feel like I could actually buy one if I really really could justify needing it enough to splurge on one.

I'm going to be honest, my budget just won't allow that to even be considered.

No worries, I wasn't sure what your budget was and for new controllers $240 is about as low as it gets.

Between the RK and the Apex Lite I'd give the edge to the Apex...

The new tank will have so much equipment, I feel like it will be a plus. It doesn't have to be fancy, just functional and simple to use.

Almost everything we get is 2nd hand. A lot is 3rd hand.

I got an apex lite with display controller an extra dc8 powerbar, temp & ph probes. Used for under $250
I can Timer/control/monitor temp, ph and return pumps, wavemakers etc all on 16 outlets.
But it's expandable to leak detectors and orp probes and water level float switches, webcams etc.

Controllers are expensive, so better do a good research first. The most commons are Apex and GHL but I think it would depend on how often are you with your tank and how much automation you can to achieve.

Dang.... Why does work have to have started back! I want to just hang out on R2R all day! :)
I think most of us kinda hang out here all day - even though we do work, er supposed to be working anyway. :)
