Brine shrimp question

Does anyone know if hatched brine shrimp can survive in RO/DI water and if so for how long?

I don't believe that they can live very long in straight RO/DI water but many folks rinse the newly hatched bbs in it for 1 minute to remove hydroids and empty cyst shells.
