So another first for me.. I was away all day and when I came home I noticed half of one of my shrooms was gone, nearby I noticed a glowing bristle worm with part of the mushroom still in it’s mouth! I have read about some of them eating corals but never believed it, now I do..

Maybe I am wrong but that doesn't look like a common bristle worm to me. The spikes seem to only come out on the sides and the ones I have seen before have bristles all over. That reminds me of a picture I saw of a fire worm. I hope you didn't touch it. If you did then you will know if I am right or wrong because fire worms are known to have a nasty sting.

I should have said it tore in half when I removed it.. the first picture of bristle worm is just a image that I found that resembles it, it’s a wider/flatter type of bristle worm.. the bluer pictures are ones I took of the worm that I had right after I removed it from my tank, mushroom still hanging out of its mouth.

will the piece that got away, turn into another worm?
