Bought a coral from my local petco and saw two of those starfish in the bottom of the bag looks like a brittle star but not sure if it’s a welcome friend or unwanted foe.

Most likely a friend - the only brittle star in the hobby that I’m aware of that is generally considered bad is the “Green Serpent Star” Ophiarachna incrassata. All others that I’ve seen in the hobby are considered good.

Welcome but can carry ich into the display alongh with your coral
