Yesterday my lfs was selling a lemon lime hammer as just another regular hammer so I scooped up the good deal (they were also selling a rose bta as a blasto and yumas as rhodactis... )anyway, I brought it home and as I was taking it off the plug, I broke it into 4 pieces, 1 containing the mouth with buds and 3 others have buds only. In a panic, I glued them all separate to pieces of rock and placed in tank. Is there any chance of survival? Obviously the 1 with the mouth has the best chance if it has any at all but what about the others?

The one with a mouth will most likely survive out of the 4. You’ll just have to wait and see

I’ve had things break apart before and I’m always surprised what grows back. Once out of curiosity I glude down a Brocken of piece of birdsnest with only one polyp and it grew into a 1” frag within 1.5 months. So don’t lose hope just leave it alone and it could come back.

Thank you guys. I'll have to find the thread about the hammer skeleton. I mean, each fragment looks like it's doing alright and bubbled up. I'm actually half hoping either the vendors don't see this post or only the one with the mouth makes it so that doesn't end up being the size of what they decide to start selling at the shops.

Out of curiosity...Why wouldn’t you want the vendors to see this ?

Well, what happened?
