Brooklynella? Or something else?

Hello, at the beginning of the month, I got 2 clown fish, the day after I got them, one appeared to be incredibly sick, which I diagnosed as brooklynella. The fish have been in a quarantine tank since then and being treated with metro. However earlier this month about 5 ish days after quarantining the fish, one had sadly died.

Now my problem with this is, the other fish hasn't shown any signs of brook yet, not then, and definitely not now. He has been healthy from the start, which is making me second guess my diagnosis as I understand brooklynella is super contagious. I went back to the fish store to look at the other clowns in the same tank I got mine from, and they all looked healthy as well. Maybe brook came from my live rock? My display take is empty with no fish and has been since moving the clowns to the quarantine. I'm almost done dosing metro, I have about 5 days left of dosing it.

I guess a second opinion would help me understand the illness that the fish had. Any help is appreciated!

That does look like it could have been the start of Brooklynella. Towards the end, did it have more mucus, with done of it coming off in sheets?

I’d continue with the metronidazole (assuming your dose is correct).

That doesn’t look like end stage Brook - the fish is really thin and is pricing mucus feces, neither of those are symptoms of Brook.

There are three diseases that I know case this in clowns - one is treatable with metronidazole (internal flagellates) and two have no treatment; viruses or coccidia.
