I've had the tank for almost 2 years now, added a gobby and some trigger pods and now have brown algae. Is it because of the pods or maybe I made my lighting too intense. After a water change it'll look better for a day or two and then start to get a little out of control. My alk is 8.5, and calcium is 440.

I would think increasing the lighting could upset things. Are you thinking of decreasing the light level back to where it was?
