I have a film on my aquarium surface. I have powerheads directed at the surface of the water and my parameters are ideal yet it thrives. My tank has been running for over 2 years and this is a more recent issue. It coats my arm when I put it in the tank and it smells "chemically" and kind of like cucumber? Any ideas on what it could be and potential solution? Thanks.

by chance did you down size your return pump? or is there something that has slowed the water flow over the aquarium overflow or maybe something that’s impeding the flow? If the film wasn’t there before it seems like around the time you first noticed it something changed.
