Hello all! It’s been a while since being on here! So I’m still running my 20 gal. tall and recently been dealing with a brown thin hair algae. Wanted to get some advice to help eliminate it. So tank has been up for 2 years. Running a AC 110 HOB with a little floss, half the sponge, some rubble rock and a bag of chemi-pure elite. Also have a skimmer. Parameters are
Sal. 1.025
PH 8.3-8.4 depending on time of day
DKH 7
Cal. 420-440
Mag. 1200-1240
Temp. 78
Phos. 0
nitrate 0-.005
Was told my tank may be too clean. I was running my lights for 12 hours but cut them back to 8. Lifted my skimmer cup higher and removed the chemi. I also have 4 fish and a decent cleaning crew. Was doing an 2-3 gal water change every other week using distilled water and reef crystals Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
