Brown hitchhiker on hammer coral?

I recently received this hammer coral and I dipped it with revive and brushed the skeleton extensively before putting it in my tank. A few days later, I look at the skeleton and I see these brown blobs. Any idea what these are? They weren't there before.

Yeah I think these were "boring sponges" that ...bore holes. I ended up cutting off a large part of the skeleton and seeing these dang things. I super glued everything up afterwards. It looks like the seller wasn't being completely honest as these pests tend to come from mariculture.
