Brown jelly disease on duncan

Found this on my duncan today, and i am leaving for a trip tomorrow. I have an extra tank that is set up and sort of cycled, i figured i would slap the thing in there and blow it all off. I dont want it spreading in the main tank so i dont care about the 5 gallon. Any recommendations on a better idea i can take out in like 12 hours? Figure that is my best option of possibly saving the poor thing.

I am not seeing it? Brown Jelly Disease usually looks like a brown bacterial mass, like a blob, in my experiences with it.

Cut that head off and dip the coral in some reef dip if you have time before your trip. That should save it.

^ this but iodine is even better. If your can get your hands on cypro you can treat the whole tank, remove charcoal and shut off your skimmer. I always keep some on hand.

What do i cut the head off with? I dont have a dremel/ bandsaw, only bonecutters which will shatter it.

I dont feel like doing it in my main tank, since i have seen enough crashes, but will it do fine in my 5 gallon just for treating it? I have no time to really dip it or anything since i have nothing on hand, so should i proceed with blowing it all off outside of the tank and putting it quarentine? I just need to save it for the trip.

Yes cut off the infected head in the other tank. Get some cypro to have on hand for the future. I learned the hard way when I got back from vacation and it wiped out my torches, Frogspawn and torches.

Bone cutters will be ok. I've resorted to crushing an infected head off with pliers before. I did it in a separate container, then rinsed really good before dipping. This isn't a cure all, but I always keep some of this on hand just in case. It's better than nothing.

That's very strange because that's not the original image I reviewed multiple times.
Definitely intervene and remove.

Please don't take this the wrong way.... The longer you procrastinate, the more of a chance that it will spread to other coral. I've seen BJD wipe out some very established LPS colonies fast.

I tried fragging an infeced head off and it just crushed. I cleared it out and blew off all of the bjd, dipped it and put it in quarentine. Looking great right now, thanks for the advice!
