Brown jelly?

I aggravated my hammer messing with flow settings and notice this brown area when it retracted. Is it just ticked off at me or could it be brown jelly?

Hey mate- good question. From the looks of it, it is definitely retracted due to aggravation. Based on that pic alone, I would say not BJD, but keep an eye out. BJD you are typically looking for decay and necrosis (death) and a brown mucous substance that is either covering the coral or flowing out of it. I'll attach a pic of BJD on a similar looking coral from another tank as just an example. Keep an eye on it and be sure to act fast if you see it take a turn as BJD can spread incredibly quickly!

Thanks. It looks nothing like that. Was fully extended and happy 5 minutes before that picture. I messed with my mighty jet settings along with powerhead location and stirred up detritus. It certainly didnt like it.
