Can anyone ID what is on my candy cane coral?

It looks like they are receding and that is algae on fresh skeleton
 
How long does it take them to die? They were big and fluffy about three days ago. I am currently treating my tank with Flux Rx
Flux RX does not affect coral. What are you trying to treat?
