brown stuff on sps

A local reefer let his tanks go down after a flatworm incident. He had this unidentified sps that was pretty much dead a couple polyps thats all. I took it from him along with some misc items. Well after a couple weeks in my tank it has alot of polyps spreading and even some green coming out. But recently has some weird brown detrius stuff around the skeleton. Crappy iphone pic but was wondering if it is on its way out or whats going on. I have never really kept sps but with this tank was going to have a few so i figured i would try to save this frag. Have no idea what it is, or whats coming out of it lol.. Thanks BTw its not really green its more brown just the way the pic looks.

probably diatoms? try to blow it off in a powerhead or something, or take your hand and blow it off by swatting at it.

although the pic is a bit blurry. I have to clean my gorgonians every so often.
