Hi all,

About 2 months in now, and have passed diatoms (quickly!) and have been enjoying some rather nice looking green algae on the live rock!

Started feeding heavier last week to get nutrients up a bit after adding first few corals and a small chaeto ball in the back, and started to see some brownish dots appearing on the glass.

Unlike diatoms or the green algae, the algae magnet doesn't take this stuff off. Probably have to scrape off with a blade but haven't tried yet.

0-5 Nitrate
0 phosphate
440 calcium, 9.5-10 dKh, Ph around 8-8.1 depending on time of day...
Temp 87-88°
Lights run from 6a to 7p but only full strength from 930-430, otherwise running below 65% for some simulated sunrise and sunset

Any ideas?

Thanks as always !!!

(P.s. don't make fun of that huge heater :( primary cobalt neotherm died and am using this as a backup til replacement arrives this week!)

(Pps some extra tank shots so I can show off a bit lol)

Thx ... Still diatoms even though won't rub off glass with algae mag? First batch of diatoms came off with ease (same as in my freshwater tanks - comes right off)
